It'll probably tank. The Age of Westerns came and went long ago. Maybe it MIGHT be successful if Rooster Cogburn can dodge bullets like Neo, or if they introduce a new character who looks like a Transformer or one of the Avatar characters!

Unforgiven...
Holy crap, Unforgiven is almost twenty years old.
You might be right.
Big +1 here. I could never understand the obsession with John Wayne, either as an actor (not great) or as a person (ditto).I'm not at all a fan of John Wayne and the Coen Brothers are incredible and diverse movie makers so I cannot seem to muster the same outrage. Also Matt Damon and Jeff Bridges are both great actors (a heckuva lot better at acting than John Wayne, that's for sure).

Oh, yay.
Hollywood is out of new ideas again and is resorting to taking a dump on a cinema classic.
Hooray for progress.
I can't recall a single case of liking the remake better than the classic which inspired it.
I thought it was a fine movie. I don't understand the hero worship that surrounds John Wayne.
