That's easy... My Fender. It will never leave me. Its long past the honeymoon stage, and its still passing as the best bass I've laid my hands on. Its not going anywhere, period.

I picked up a MIM Fender Jazz V (before the foundation) and like it a lot.
One of the nicer Fender Jazz basses I've played.......
but....it did not do what the Foundation has done to me.

Those foundations are kinda special, aren't they?. Comfortable body, really fast neck, and man do those super ferrites scream. I am thinking about finding a fretless foundy for the collection.
My Patriot is basically a foundy with a single ferrite , and a p bass-ish pickguard. it is my number one bass for putting a smile on my face. It isn't my main bass, but it sure is fun too play, and it isn't going anywhere. I don't have one love, I have four.

Yep. Not for everyone, but it's exactly what I need and want.
Check the used gear at GC, I seem to recall seeing a fretless for sale there.

Aside from strings in an emergency, I don't buy from GC. Not a big fan of the place, just personal.

The four loves are in regard to your topic. Yes, , but not just one love. I listed the four in an earlier post on this thread. In fact my avatar photo is my number 1, my Linc Luthier fretless 6. So good it doesn't have any tone controls, just volume and blend, and it freakin' smokes!!!

My G&L L-2000 hands down the best bass in tone & feel I've ever played... Next to the Warmoth Wenge neck Alder body jazz bass I just built.
My Warwick Corvette $$...love it. Nothing else has grabbed me like this bass...then again, I haven't played a TON of other basses, but so far it's it. I have a Fortress One too, and it's a completely different animal. Like it too, but not like the Vette.
Kinda weird but I've played many basses , bought a Ray34 ...all was perfect and just before the first gig ...bad grounding noise :/ , then she tried , and is still trying to break my back by apparently gaining weight , don't get me wrong I love her and all but ... I'm kinda falling for another bass :C ....
I played a squier 60's CV P bass and it blew my socks aways , sooo I'm posting a NBD thread soon...
(and yeah , expensive basses are awesome , but I have found my needs satisfied on cheaper basses)
I have played Tobias killer B's and Fenders , alleva copppolos and sadowskys , alembics...they have done nothing to me , I mean some of them had awesome tones but just didn't have that something the squier has :/

I guess I am an old married fart in many ways, especially as my main bass has been with me since 1982. I ordered a Carvin LB50 Koa from the factory and as soon as I ran my hands over the bass were were as one. There have been times 'Taz' was my only bass and even with the harem I have now it's still my main squeeze. I have owned a total of 6 in this model and currently have 4, 3 are Koa and one is black. The bass in my avatar is my #2 bass 'Toney' it has EMG HB active pickups and passive volume & tones, great R&R bass and sometimes for recording. The other 2 are set up as piccolo basses.
I've got some true lust going on for a Ric 4080.
I do love my 4003, but I'm sure that there are probably better 4003's and 4001's out there.

I have been in love with Rickenbacker 4001s/4003s for years now. If you mean basses that I own, I love my jazz. I've probably written more songs with it than with any other instrument I've ever played.
Mine would be my 1984 Squier P-Bass. It may take a back seat once in a while, but I always end up going back to her. The vintage size frets and neck profile alone make her #1. Burst and Rosewood are very hard to beat.
My Carvin LB70s, one completely koa, one alder with koa top. Both have ebony fretboards. I ordered the one on the left from the factory, and it was the best money I ever spent. The one on the right I was able to get used on the classifieds here at TB 3 years ago. These basses just fit me in both ergonomics, and the tone. One has rounds and single coils , one has flats and stacked humbuckers. Other than an occasional need for a fretless, I can really play anything I need to with these two basses.
I'm a gear hound, though, so I keep a few other basses around just for the fun of it.
My Rickenbacker is my true love. its my first bass, i bought it used. everything i have learned to do has been on this bass, im very comfortable with it. i want other basses but i will still have this one.

Anywho, my '80s Jackson Concert. Even after a few years I still look at it and go: "Wow." It's perfect in every way.
The first bass for sale on the Available now section of Birdsong guitars. That thing is the most beautiful bass I have ever seen and I would kill someone to have it.

I'm conflicted. I owned a single bass all through the '80s - a Ric 4001. Like an idiot I sold it in the '90s. Went through a long Fender phase and found the bass I'll die with - my '72 Fender P Bass. But I recently picked up another Ric, this time an '05 4003. I pretty much use this bass exclusively now. It's like coming home for me. Makes me wonder what I was thinking when I sold my 4001.
So... I'd sell my Ric before my P, but I use my Ric far more than my P. See? Conflicted.
