Thanks for the post Richland123, just what I wanted - lots of variety! Some of them were a bit smooth for me, but some of the them were great pop, funk whatever.

True that, but watch out for his era where he played pop near to a Kenny G level of pure terrible. I think Freddie Hubbard played some fairly rocky stuff too at some point, not sure.

I am never going to be able to play anything like Maynard, not even if I obtain his mouthpiece, so by "get back to us when your chops heal" I'm guessing you mean "go away and never come back"...

Whoa. That was good stuff, I have a friend who keeps nagging me to watch Cowboy Bebop, and knowing I'm a music freak, insists that the music is awesome. I guess he was right.

In addition, in case anyone finds this topic and was wondering about the same thing as I was, and to remind myself, there's an Aussie band called Midnight Oil, who released a great rock song in the early 80s called Power and the Passion.
