Q: How tight/snug should a truss rod be when dropped into the router cut?

Q: If a 'bit' loose, how can you tighten up any gaps?

Bonus Question: Glue or not Glue?

The closer the fit, the more effect the truss rod can have and the stronger the neck will be. You shouldn't need any glue. If it is under tension like it should be, it won't slide around and shouldn't rattle.

The downside to gluing in a truss rod is the glue may stop the rod from working properly. I don't see an upside.
