Trusted denver luthiers

I've heard about them before- but how do they fair on work for electric stuff? I was under the impression they are exclusively acoustic guys. I guess neck work would be similar, but I also wanted to do some stuff to the guitar as a whole to "De-Mexify" it... If you will...

Edward Dick has done some great work for me. Bridge repair on a Takamine acoustic, fretboard planing on a fretless that developed a hump. Here's a link:

He also does the repair for the Olde Town Pickin Parlor in Arvada, which is how I found him.

Del Toro Guitars is a great place and he is located in the downtown Denver Area. Brian Dekebach is his name and he has done some great work on my stuff. Here's a link: DEL TORO LUTHERIE

+1 Brian is a hell of a guy and loves to work on basses.
Also I am a local luthier. I don’t have a shop right now so I’m not insured but if you need anything simple done I’d be happy to help you guys out on the cheap.:)

i've had some stuff done at colfax guitars. imo, they were less than friendly, and expensive. Turnaround was two weeks. i got the impression that they are more of an acoustic guitar type place. they do good quality work.

there is another place by gravity music on federal blvd... they did a solder job for me- quick and cheap, but i can't attest to anything else. if memory serves, it's called guitar Haven.

from now on, i think i'll be going to Hackl Guitars. he does some beautiful custom work (including custom basses). as soon as i have a few extra coins jingling around, i'm going to have him to throw a kill-switch in my p-bass.

That's how they were before the change in management. I don't think it's like that at all now.

I had a brief encounter with the old management and wasn't pleased.

Cool shoot me a pm and when you get set up I'll take some stuff down. I have a gary willis I need to put flats on and have set up.

See Chris Herbert on So. Broadway at Acoustic Music Revival. He works on electrics as well. Top notch craftsmanship. Also Scott Lofquist. Jason or Ross at Drum City Guitarland can put you in touch with him. One more is Dan Lenz at Axe Haven on N. Federal Blvd. All are longtime Denver Luthiers with good reputations.

Scott Loftquist Does the best fretwork in town at a reasonable price. He does all the finish fretwork for Scott Surine of Surine basses, He also builds the Semi-hollow Regency for Scott. Bobby Smith at Grosh Guitars also does great Fretwork.

Edit to add, +1 on Chris and Dan!
