Tube amps and effects

I use Darkglass overdrives(2 of them stacked) into my Mesa Bass 400. I use it to get my inherent tone, so I don't even look at them as effects.
The Mesa just enhances them greatly(used other amps for a long time before digging my Mesa out of my spare room).

What you said, though. A good amp will enhance any effect, so it is the same.

Here’s the pedalboard I use with my tube amp. They all sound great.

On a slightly more (less?) serious note, I’ve yet to try a pedal that doesn’t sound good with my tube amp, and I’ve probably tried well over 100 pedals with it.

I love the sound of a Broughton always-on HPF with my Ampeg PF20T. By attenuating the lowest frequencies, it makes the amp sound much more powerful than a mere 20 watts would suggest.
