Tube Damage?

I recently left a perfectly well working tube amp in storage for a year in what was supposed to be a climate controlled storage space. Was working fine when I left it, but now, first time I plug it in again, I'm getting microphonics. Turns out neither heating nor cooling nor climate control were working at all. So the amp, although just sitting, over the course of a year, went through temperatures ranging from minus 49f (-47c)and (38c) 99f. Could the tubes or circuits have been affected by the temperature, humidity, dryness extremes?

If I remember correctly, old amps that have not been played for a long time are often required to be brought back to life by slowly powering on using a Variac. I'd think it's more likely to be capacitors.

They handle temp. extremes like that in gear trucks and trailers all the time. That said, often times it's the condensation, moisture that gets to things. Rust is bad.

That won't do microphonics.

I'd start with cleaning all the contacts, tube sockets etc. as they might have grown some corrosion.

This is usually what I find too.
