Warwick Tubepath. But they paired it with a A/B power section that made it nearly as heavy as an actual valve amp anyway. Think coupling up SMPS and class D with valves wasn't figured out yet.

I know the feeling. I have its cousin the Fender Bassman 300 Pro and the mixture of channel two is unlike any other. It provides a crunch and distortion to a full body bass tone. Only other amps that can do that as whole are usually Ampegs.

Speaking of which I noticed that not every tube amp behaves like a rebel waiting to ditch private school. Some tube amps can be very warm and mild-mannered. A good distortion, drive, fuzz pedal is always good to keep in the toolbox, but nothing beats the simplicity of natural tube gain and breakup.

Definitely. The Sunn 300T/300 Pro has a fantastic clean tone as well, which can be sculpted to anything with the graphic EQ and/or the compressor. I would argue it has one of the best clean tones in the business. Warm, full, yet with a lot of character if you so desire.

I loved that amp when I was younger. I remember a rehearsal space having one as the in-house amp, and you could always get great tones out of it.
