Tube Practice Amp ?

Get an epiphone valve junior. Swap the stock OT for a Hammond 125ESE. Replace the 12AX7 with a 12DW7, and the EL-84 with a 6BQ5. Get an attenuator for blasting into a power amp, giving you that sweet, sweet tube sound, including the heralded power tube distortion.

That sure sounds killer. But, my EVJ suggestion hinges on the fact that they can be had for ~$100 brand new, and are about as complex as a stomp box. :p I might just be peeing up a rope here, but I think that it would be an option for all-valve sound at volumes "adequate" for *me*. As Jimmy stated, it might get expensive, which defeats the purpose entirely, IMO.

the swr interstellar overdrive preamp is also a 5 watt all tube practice amp.

i was playing mine through an ampeg 4x10 last night. it sounded full, rich, warm... big.... i've also used it through various single 12 cabs as well as a big ampeg 4x12 cab with very similar results. i think through a single fifteen it would sound allsome.
