Both tapped classical pieces. Hamm did in the Eighties, Wooten came a bit later.
Yeah, nicely played Steve. Very smooth. It was funny listening to that (and seeing it as well) because I’m so used to the version in C (transposed for bass).
Yep - just looked it up. It was Stu Hamm who specifically covered Bach's Prelude in C Major.
I used to be able to play 3 or 4 of the pieces in the first cello suite. Took me quite a while and required some major work, but I mostly had them. Very rewarding once you get it down. I think you can do it by July 1st 
Personally, I am not aiming at a date because my goal is to be able to play it the way I would if I were playing a concert. I want it mistake free, articulate, and at a consistent tempo. I admire the focus and goal-setting, and look forward to more recorded performance. The @SteveCS video was nice!
Goal-setting is a way for me to actually get stuff done instead not really finishing anything.
I think that without a deadline it is hard to get anything done

Sometimes, Bach preludes have slightly difference notes for the left and/or right piano hands.
Do you pay attention to it?
See below an example from Bach's Prelude C minor.
It's the same face, but I guess a little movement proves I'm not dead!

I don't think I would even attempt something like that with all of those consecutive 6ths on solo electric bass.
The '846' is going to be tricky enough to make the sustained minims and tied quavers & crotchets in the bass then get the melody on only two strings and with only two spare fingers. I suspect something will have to give...
