Turner RBFL4 and Spector NS-JH5 stolen

Here's my craigslist post:

In Industry ME (near Farmington) 8/23/07 two basses stolen from my home:
1) Spector 5 string bass, natural ash body, NS-JH5-125 and Stuart Spector Woodstock NY handwritten on back of headstock.
2) Turner Renaissance RB4-FL fretless. walnut body, curly cedar top. Pointy headstock, serial # 99-936 on top edge of headstock.

Reward, no questions.

it's easy to get lulled into a sense of complacency up here in the north woods..even tho I do get out of town quite a bit my home has always been my safe haven. I hate feeling paranoid and violated but these are different times and I should move past my denial of that..

thanks for the myspace post Nino...my dialup chokes out wicked bad on those media-rich sites.

Never thought I'd be posting this..but the Turner was recovered at a pawn shop in Waterville, ME, 30 miles from my house. It was pawned for $75. Still had the strap attached, and the batteries were still ok after about 18 months. A bunch of dings and scratches, but surprisingly intact given my expectations. The pawner's story was that she bought it at a yard sale for $45...hmmm...we'll see...

It looked familiar so I did a little hunting...here it is. They're great guys and will take care of it for you....not to mention they will have the name, address and license number of the person who traded it in....

It's a story, folks.. I wouldn't have never believed it possible, quite frankly.

loend68 saved the day, big-time.

Details are still unfolding as we speak.

After much posturing and dancing about I finally have my Spector home. This brings a lot of closure to this ordeal. A DNA sample was obtained from the original scene, so ultimately the idiot will surface.
As noted above, loend played a pivotal role in making this bass a
"former statistic". ME SP stayed on task beyond the call as well.
I am grateful to all here that have offered support; public and otherwise.

I'll reinforce what others say:
*Take detailed pix
*Record serial numbers
*Make note of unique/custom features
*Mark instruments in inconspicuous places
*Insure
*Craigslist WORKS!

And a Special note:
***Retain records of all correspondence with shops/etc that you have sent notices to in the event that you do have instruments stolen, and they turn up at one of those shops.. My story thickens considerably here but I'll leave it at that..
