Turning a guitar amp into a bass amp

Has anyone tried the Kustom defender? Comes in 15 watts for under 300.

I've seen 5 watt version on Thomann, it's 5 watt class-A so it's probably not far soundwise from other mentioned amps in the 5 watt region, but the downside is Kustom does not provide schematics for this model, and there's no space in it for bigger tubes (like EL34 or 6L6, which both are reported to work with say Special 6).

15 watt version seems more interesting, still no schematics no big modding community like in Valve Junior / VHT case.

I recently put my son's 1964 Fender Princeton Reverb 16 watt tube amp through my Bergantino NV215 (out of curiosity) with a P and J bass. Much to my surprise.............it sound great! And the volume level was fairly decent.

Through my Acme B-2, it still sound great but the volume level was way down.

The Berg has higher DB @ 1 watt one meter than the Acme.

Based on this experience............yeah!...........a low watt tube guitar amp will sound fine through a bass cab with a bass.

bump > use a 2061X!
