Slap licks are like drum rudiments to me. If you get the technique down you can take it elsewhere. Note choice is what keeps it fresh. I've been using the same Neil Jason thumb bounce triplet lick since 1978 but it's been through so many iterations Neil wouldn't recognize it!![]()
