Tweeter and Crossover Upgrades?

I have a Aguilar GS112 cabient with a "Phenolic tweeter with integral phase plug". I always end up turning it nearly off. The sound is somewhat harsh and clanky.

However the tweeter on my Avatar B210 neo sounds a lot smoother and natural with less clank. It has a "Foster high frequency compression horn tweeter". I also upgraded the crossover to a 4th order around 3.5kHz if memory serves correct. I did this upgrade because I could and it was a simple, neat project.

So I was wondering that the difference was in the horn types between the Aggie and the Avatar. And if I could drop in a replacement on the Aggie without modding the cab. I also see 1" "TITANIUM DOME TWEETERs" advertised. Are these considerably different sounding?

But I have no idea what is the biggest bang for the buck on tweeter mods. Maybe I should start with the crossover? Maybe consider both?

This is the stock tweeter in the Aguilar GS112

I am thinking about replacing it with the following wave guide and driver. This wave guide is slightly bigger and space is tight:

The driver is recommended by Greenboy for the Fearful projects. Unfortunately I cannot fit the recommended wave guides.

Here's a wave guide tweeter all in one that looks like it is nearly a drop in replacement. If I am reading the curves right, this has less 2nd harmonic distortion than the emminence. Anyone use one of these?

It looks so much like the stock one, it makes me wonder if I will end up right back where I started? :)

Hi...so did you made this upgrade already?...I'm not sure but I think tweeter in mine GS212 also makes strange noise...well I have good experience with Selenium Tweeters I had one in my EBS 4x10 and one in mine EBS 2x10 combo, I have also one in 1x10 (build by me) I think Selenium tweeters are smoother "maybe" better quality than stock Aguilar's
