Next time you see him, remind him of the time he was caught on camera picking his nose on the Howard Stern show. That'll bring him down to size.

i wouldn't call it "kicked out".
it's just that Trent never stays with the same lineup for that long a time. sad, cuz i think the With Teeth lineup was his best with Jeordie and Aaron North and Freese (who is luckily still in). Finck being back is pretty cool, i just think North was a better overall badass guitarist who can go ape**** on stage and never miss a note

Yeah, I saw Jeordie with NIN TWICE in 2007! Once at Brixton Academy in London, and then at Reading Festival. He is my idol and got me into music. Its weird, I started playing guitar when I was 17, but what i really wanted was to pick up a bass and be like Twiggy!

I have spent some time playing with my Bass Pod Xt, and I think I have nailed the Twiggy Ramirez tone! I have uploaded my patch onto the Toneport website!

If you search for it you will find it! For general knowledge, I made the patch using my Epiphone Thunderbird, both pickups at 10, tone at 7.

P.S - I replaced the tone pot on my Thunderbird. Epiphone ship their T-birds with 500k pots all round, where as Gibson T-Bird are 500k for the volume, 250K for the tone; so that's what I went for. I also switched in a 0.45 Orange Drop capacitor because I love them so much! If you then roll the tone back to 7, you get rid of the harshness given by the bolt on neck, so your T-Bird sings a little more like a Gibson does.

Basically the MXR is what a I call 'clean' distortion, it's in the tube screamer family where when you click it on, you don't loose the tone of your instrument, you just get more gain.
Whereas the PD-7 has a more pronounced, "hello I've just turned on the pedal" sort of sound, all though this is lessened at low gain settings on the overdrive mode.

I don't think you'll get the same sound from the Ibanez, one of (this is just a guess) fundamentals of the tone is probably the MXR overdrive pushing his Ampeg rig into dirty territory as well.

the PD-7 has an OD mode too ya know. Use the vintage MXR though, because it will overwhelm more of your low end and that's what you want to get "that" sound

I am using a Bass Pod Xt set up with an SVT head and a SWR $x10 cab. That is as close to his 'Holy Wood' sound as I can get. IS the DI+ aggressive or kind of gentle the sansamp? Would a tube screamer do instead of the distortion+?

You should try the Dunlop MXR M80 Bass D.I.+ :bassist: It has a Twiggy Ramirez sample setting in the manual.

(Around the time he left Marilyn Manson) According to Twiggy's bass tech "Moby" the bass was taken post-effects using a Hughes and Kettner Red Box DI (Thunderbird -> pedals -> DI -> F.O.H.). The bass amp was used exclusively as a monitor. Andy Gerold uses Gibson Thunderbird, Ampeg SVT - 8 Pro, Fulltone Bass Overdrive, MXR distortion, and a bass wah.
