Two mixers, one for drum mix?

Can this be done? Drummer uses 4 to 8 mics on his kit at times.

I've done this many times with boards that don't have enough channels. Use a small mixer as a drum submixer and take the mixer's outs to one channel in your main mixer. The obvious downside is the main mixers drum fader controlls ALL the drums at once so you'll have to consider another level of gain staging when making adjustments.

Sure, not a problem. I did it one time at a small college gig where I walked in to find absolutely no outboard processing (and believe me, there were some drum kits that badly needed the gates and comps). I pulled out my Yamaha 01/V, ran the drums into that (along with a couple of auxes for vocal effects), patched it back to the main board, and off we went. As Baba said, watch your gain structure and you'll be fine.

Drums go into a seperate 8 ch board, slaved off the main board.
