Please help me understand the Opus.
I can put it on my pedalboard and simulate Preamp, Poweramp? and Cabinet (plus some effests). I can for example buy a virtual Mesa Boogie 1x15 Cabinet at Two notes, which is as I understand it an official version. I can then download it to the unit and have it simulated with me via headphones or DI out.
But what about the Amp? I can not buy the virtual TT800 (Gibson ,Mesa, Twonotes, I don't know if it exists), the official Ampeg SVT Suite... or can I?
You can put the Opus wherever is convenient.
There is an adjustable Noise Gate.
There are 12 preamp models, 3 of which are specifically for bass, but you can use guitar preamps for bass as well, with or without modifying the tone, OR you can bypass the preamp stage.
There are 16 different power amp models - 4 basic tube types (6L6, KT88, EL34, & EL84) and each can be run in Pentode or Triode mode and Single End or Push Pull, OR you can bypass the power amp stage.
There are 6 specific bass cabinets and a whole bunch of guitar cabs (which can also be used for bass) OR you can bypass the cabinet section.
There are a bunch of microphones and you can use 1 or 2 mics at a time and move the mics around OR you don't have to use mics (I found that even if you don't use a cabinet, the mics still affect your sound).
There is a Post FX processor with 3 sections -
1. EQ, that has Guitar 5-band, Bass 5-band, or Custom 5-band semi-parametric + adjustable HPF & LPF;
2. Enhancer - (refer to post #7);
3. Reverb- (refer to post #7).
You can use any, all, or none of these sections.
You can change the line out signal point to earlier in the processing chain from that of the DI out.
The headphone out signal will have the same processing as what you set up for the DI out.

As far as what is available at this moment, I'd suggest you communicate with their help desk.

I prefer to modify existing presets or create new ones from scratch.
To me, guitarists are more concerned about getting the tone they want with the help of cabinets.
As a bassist, it depends on the tone you are after - if you want the sound of your bass guitar, only louder, then you probably don't want to include a cabinet at all.
I feel fairly confident that the more bassists buy these, there will be more bass-specific add-ons - I already suggested a GK model and a Mesa M9 model.
I know I didn't answer all of your questions, but I hope I helped to point you in the right direction to find the answers.
