You would think the solid colored Forums would be the typical Peavey poplar just for cost savings.
My ash Gen 1 Fury weighs 9.1 lbs, significantly more than my poplar Gen 2 Furys at 8.25 lbs but not waaaay more.
Still don't know why a four string Forum with one pickup and a pre should be crazy heavy.

Forum AX and Forum 5 were ash or alder, both had large die cast bridges.

Only the standard single pickup Forum was poplar.

The weight of any species of timber is only a general idea. I was stacking 10 x 2 pine boards yesterday, every 5th board weighed easy twice the others.

That information clears things up.
So the single pickup black Forum 4 body that bigtone23 and Bleeker were looking at on Ebay would likely be a good candidate for a bigtone23 Frankenbass project or a Franken-Bleeker bass without it turning into a boat anchor.

I agree about weight variance...
Last year we were removing the dunnage from steel decking for a 90 foot X 90 foot steel mezzanine job before starting the assembly and welding work.
About twenty pieces out of the big batch of dunnage boards were some kind of really, really heavy wood that looked similar (darker and a bit reddish) to the rest but were so much heavier that it took two hands and a bit of a squat to pick each up after dropping them grabbing one handed.
My son has that pile in his storage unit for special art projects.

Nice looking T-40 listed on Facebook Marketplace for $600. It is in Indiana if anyone is interested. I dont know the seller and have no affiliation to them.

No crazy big heavy bridge, no heavy Titan tuners, body doesn't look huge, the three chromed brass knobs are heavy, and it has a pre-amp.
Otherwise, I can't really see why it would be a tank.
So I wonder what the body is made out of, my guess would be poplar at that point in Peaveys timeline.

Mine is poplar and doesn’t quite rival my t-40 but it is a beast. I’m sure a badass ii and some Titans could get you there though

That bass is listed as being in South Austin for $399 without a case and listed in Pasadena TX with a case for $179 and calling it a Milestone.
I think you best call the Pasadena TX location and see exactly what they have there before they ship you a Milestone.
The 1987 sunburst Fury is actually in the South Austin store and listed at $399 the same price they had listed it for weeks before, I think it was in Pasadena and now it's here.

I saw that, but I’m willing to take the chance. I make enough trips to GC to just make the return if it’s a screwup.
