Can't help I'm afraid it was already installed when I bought it, truth be told I've only tried it a couple of times while practicing.
That's the way the cavity is shielded on my '89 Dyna Unity. Silver foil attached with staples to the cavity walls.
Peavey used but did not make the 2-tec bridge. I do not recall seeing any 5 string Peavey basses with a 2-tec bridge.

Before and after pictures of my '88 Fury . . . swapped out the factory stock electronics and pickguard for an EMG GZR set and a black pearl guard from Chandler. So far I've resisted temptation to modify the Foundation - those super ferrites do sound good, but even a little bit of single-coil noise bugs me.

I'm excited to show my stereo fretless G Bass with Graphtech Ghost piezos when it's done, but unfortunately I've just learned that my luthier is in the hospital with some issues pertaining to a heart condition he has. I don't know how serious it is, but please send thoughts and prayers to Rick Johnson in MN.
BigTone has the black one, the first one I saw in this thread was a mahogany Patriot and the guy added a Duncan made Ric replica pup at the neck heel.
I've posted this before but what the hell...
Here is a pic of my ThunderFury, the T-Bird pickup sounds great.
Not a stunner in the looks department but it sounds like a 60's Thunderbird, it's 8.25 pounds, and it has no T-Bird neck dive!
It may get a tort pickguard and a tort pickup trim ring, or maybe just a black pickup trim ring...not sure yet.

I'm an incessant tinkerer. I like to do mods that fly under the radar... When I got the first 84 Foundation, the bridge volume pot went bad about 6 months in. Well, since a pot needs replacing, might as well use a push/pull and add the series option to the bass. Being a J bass/Foundation type guy, I rarely use series mode, but it's cool to have. It has that extra push in the low mids and a smoother top end vs parallel mode.
It's funny, I consider it a way for dyed-in-the-wool P Bass guys to tolerate a J bass. Something one comes across here on TB on the regular, being a P centric site. I was shocked to read about how many players just perma-wired their J basses in series mode. The alternate (adjustable series) wiring for the Foundation is pretty cool. I tried it, but reversed the primary pickup to be the neck, and then blending in the bridge in series.
Also funny, I always put a series/parallel switch on my P bass pickups. Those same dyed-in-the-wool P bass guys usually don't care for parallel mode on a P. But I like it, it has that extended bandwidth, like a J neck pickup.

The '84 Ibanez RB630 that thinks it's a T45. The RB45. Has volume, tone (with push/pull coil split) and Q filter tuned to cut mids. Honorary Peavey.
The '94 Forum Plus with Wilde P46/J45L, ungrounded blend, push/pull series/parallel for the P46, black pickguard, thumb rest and Metal P knobs...
The cool aluminum knobs I found for my 85 Dyna 4. The EQ knobs are from a Washburn, the Vol/Blend are Ernie Ball.
87 RicRiot. First pic is with the original 87 neck. 2nd pic is it's final state with the 83 neck with 1.75" nut, Hipshot Xtender and metal P knobs, Fender Stealth string tree on the A.
The '83.5 T42.5, 85 Foundation body, 82 T45 neck, Toasters, green PU rings, coil split for inside coils, Hipshot Xtender and Fender Stealth string tree on the A.
87 Foundriot. 87 pearl white Foundation body and the 87 Patriot neck (that got booted for the wide nut 83 on RicRiot). Cool green J knobs and wired for the alternate Foundation wiring that does neck pickup soloed to blending in the bridge pickup in series. It's flanked by my two 84 Foundys. The one on the left has the push/pull series/parallel knob, Fender stealth string tree and flats, the one on the right is fully stock and has rounds.

Personally, I wouldn't touch the Foundation....that's a beautiful specimen. If you have hum, check your shielding, jack and grounds. My Foundy's are dead quiet.
Hi Larry ! I've used PLENTY NTMB preamps in Cirrus's over the years and just know that the stock volume pot needs to be replaced with a 25k pot since the pickups are active. Otherwise, I found it to be a good choice, and I'm sure there are others I've used, too, but I don't recall the brands.
Agreed. Even the soloed pickups hum much lower than many other single coil instruments I have.
I have toyed with the idea of dropping a Duncan STC-2C-BO in a Foundy. It's a great preamp that I have used in other basses. However, since I have a couple Dynas, I resist the temptation.
