Very common issue with the Millennium basses. Shim the hell out of the neck.

They work 99.9% of the time :)

$15 will get you a Groovetech Multi-tool. It also works 99.9% of the time but along with the 5/16" socket it carries the correct hex keys for bridge/micro-tilt and knob grub screws , also get Philip's drivers for neck/PG/pickup and bridge intonation machine screws. Yet to find much use for the ruler :laugh:

That Gibson wrench got the neck on my T-40 looking much better after I gave it over to the local tech so it did it's job. The Groovetech Multi-Tool does sound like something nice to have around just in case.

My favorite truss tool for peaveys is one from stewmac, but they seem to have updated the design in recent years to not have nearly as long a reach as my old one. Like y’all said, the Gibson one *usually* works fine, but some early peaveys have the fixture pretty far into the hole for some reason, which can be tough to get a good grab on without a proper tool. Years ago I remember seeing someone ground down a socket for a ratchet to fit the hole, and there was room enough to just leave it in the neck and cover it with the truss rod cover.

Yep, this is that .01% of the time.
I got around it by just filing off a little of the truss rod cavity opening where the fingerboard meets the face of the headstock. Now a regular Gibson tool works fine and the cover still hides the cavity in full. I did add a couple truss rod washers under the nut to just give a touch more reach on those two nuts, too.

Over here someone snagged a 4 string JJ Millennium US with bird's eye neck for £325 ($436). Bidding ended yesterday , £325 was the opening figure.

Guess 2022 is not the year for me to flood the market with Peaveys :roflmao:

I have a feeling a 5 would snag more, just like 6s don't seem to be as hot of an item as 5s. Who knows.
