I would not use WD40 on a fingerboard. I own two basses with phenolic fingerboards and clean them with 409 and a microfiber cloth.

I can’t quite remember but when I took it to someone they had to fix some of the frats and let the neck relax
At that point I put 50 to 110 Bass Strings one and been good ever since

Yes, the thing is on par with an airplane under that cover... makes my conklin (6 knobs + 2 switches + push/pull) seem like a toy.
I sold mine as I did not trust the bridge durability.
disclosure(s) - I own an Emerald, Composite Acoustics (botique era) and Modulus - I have owned a cleaning chemical company... Any chemical has the threat of affecting the surface. We can not confirm that a Bquad neck has the same chemistry as a zon.
steel wool will dull the finish
Deep cleaning... damp microfiber cloth (water) and persistence.... same thing works for a contour case with melted foam.
I've decided that 2022 is going to be the year I own a Cirrus. I'm going to unload some instruments and try to get something high end. Maybe even a 6 string. I'm also cancelling an order on a custom build I've been waiting for more than 3 years. I just can't justify sitting and waiting any longer. I feel like the Cirrus will fill the void and give me some needed inspiration in my playing.

Yes, WD-40 is fine, because like Zon, and Status (who also recommend that product), your fingerboard is phenolic. So, you're good to go.
Regarding a polished/satin finish, a regular car or furniture polish is fine, but for satin, go easy, or you'll bring a gloss finish in from rubbing too hard.
FUN FACT: WD-40 got it's name from the 40th experiment of a mixture that creates water displacement.

Chuck, Status recommends WD-40 for their phenolic boards, so I'd trust them. Their instruments are crazy-nice, and they built John Entwistle's all-graphite, one-piece Buzzard, so....
I'm confident Status knows what is good for their fingerboards. I personally do not like the odor of WD-40. I have also noticed that although it is designed to displace water almost every old can of the stuff I have seen has a lot of rust on it. It seems that it displaces water but may not prevent rust.
In the end, use what works for you.
I used to use regular guitar polish and a polish cloth on my friends Modulus. It worked well.
My goal in 2022 is to not buy a Cirrus. Heck, to not even buy a bass at all. I just want to work on the projects I have going and spend more time playing.
Everytime I say that, a beautiful Cirrus pops up for a good price and I stress for 3 days on how I'm going to justify getting it.

The only reason I bought a GV (same pickups/shape), is that I put one of my Carvins up for sale, and I've had that wonderful GV carbon/walnut neck prove itself in crap weather years ago. That, combined with the truss wheel and an upgraded preamp (Pope 4-band), makes a very welcomed addition to my tools.
If Audio Taper PM'd you with the Top-Secret, government black project known as the Peavey B-Quad schematics, then you have the only one available because there's NOTHING online in any tech forums anywhere, according to a local tech. I've looked everywhere myself, not that I would know how to read it, but at least I'd know if it existed.

It's nothing like that, I offered to email Peavey Customer Service for him with the serial as they seem to send stuff to me more willingly than others.
Besides, I lost my Top Secret clearance after that incident when I got busted with all the super models in the fancy hotel room.
