Absolutely it hepled. Automatically had way lower action, and even though the holes didn't line up perfectly, I didn't have to use force to get the screws in (wasn't that off).

Can someone educate me on this Fury bass: 1982 Peavey Fury IV USA Made 4 String Electric Bass Guitar Quilted Maple Top | eBay. It doesn't look like it would be a 1982 or made in the USA to me! Couldn't find a manual on the net.

Seller is misrepresenting the good sold. It is an early 2000s import line model (quite likely Korea)

Not only did it help, but it let me avoid the tilt function altogether. Not that the tilt doesn't work properly if done right, but it's just a pain to GET right. That, and the stock aluminum ABM bridge seems flimsy. I prefer heavier brass or steel bridges to not only lessen neck dive, but also for better punch and sustain, at least here. Yes, the change from the stock bridge to a brass Hipshot is noticeable on the GV. I also did it on my first one, back in the '00s, and I was impressed with the sustain, volume, and clarity improvement. Granted, it wasn't anything crazy, but certainly better.

I struck up a friendship with Hipshot years ago in California (NAMM), so I've had an artist discount ever since. That certainly helps, but these bridges are worth it, regardless.

Im like 95% sure all of these super ferrites were the same, and were only used in 5-strings as a "we can probably make this work" kinda thing. There were no dedicated 5-string super ferrites, as far as i know

In the mid 90’s I went to church with a guy who played with some of the members of Kansas before they became known. He wasn’t sure how things were going to turn out and he had to decide to either stick with the band stuff or go to college. He chose college. That said, he became very successful in business and could (and did) buy any type of guitar gear he wanted to. He had the Fenders, Gibsons etc but he ended up using one of the Peavey Generation guitars and I’m pretty sure the Classic 50 amp as his main gear. He also played in a couple of cover bands and used that guitar mainly for those too. He always raved about that thing!
