U.S. Peavey Club

After many months of dragging my feet, my forum plus is finally back in working condition. I bought it on TB as basically a closet queen, but it had some serious neck twist/ski jump that I hadn’t noticed until it was too late to return or ask for money off, etc.

Fast forward to today, here it is with a freshly planed board, new frets, a new bone nut, a new bridge, and I buffed the satin finish up to a more 80s Peavey-ish high gloss. It plays good! It’s still not immaculate in terms of board geometry, but I already took a lot of material off and at this point, playing clean is good enough for me considering how rough it started. Consider this a cautionary tale that great condition doesn’t always mean great condition, ya know? ;)

I do think I’ll be converting it to a passive system here soon, leaning toward the Geezer set. Maybe a black pickguard? Black pearl? Idk, opinions welcome lol

Black with Wilde P46/J45L, but that’s just me and what I did with my green Forum Plus.

Saw this sell on eBay earlier.

Feel like sending the seller my condolences , boy did they take a bath on this.
36 bids for a total of £345 (Squier CV money).

Bad enough they invested in Gotoh/Schaller hardware but the finish was done by T Dog Customs. Toby runs the top finishing shop in the UK, hope the seller had the work done years back as today that purple holo sparkle would be £345.

Another cautionary tale re resale values after mods and eccentric color refinishes?

Cautionary tale regarding Peavey's status in the UK.

Price of G-bass here has remained pretty constant last 10 years. Friend of mine has had zero interest in his Unity despite it being listed for over 3 years. 2 T-45s have been up over a year now and I've been seeing the same TL-5 for at least 10 month.

Heck a tiger eye Cirrus custom took 3 attempts and it was at Fender MIM money.

Pretty cool video !!!! The definitive T-40 song. So punchy and driven !!!!!

When I was in junior high school, a kid named Joe, who was a grade behind me, wore a JOURNEY TOUR silver, crew only jacket to Miller Creek Junior High in Marin County 1982 because his mom was dating their drummer, Steve Smith. This was when I played trumpet and never even knew bass was in my future.

I had another buddy from another school who's mom dated a guy named Jimi Hendrix... I think I've heard of him.

Don't be so sure about that.

The T-40 was used for 1 tour, PR work along with the backline. Ross plays a Fender in the official video and he's on the Magnum in Tokyo. There's no word from Ross the T-40 ever saw studio time.

That's too bad. I always thought it was a T-40. So what about "Don't Stop Believin'" ? That's a T-40, right ? Also, that Ovation on the Tokyo video is really cool. I just saw a Rare Guitars video on it.
