I don't think anybody here is unhappy about what you are posting in this thread.
Unlike some threads on Talkbass, people here allow motor-mouth people like me to go on and on about non Peavey topics without complaint.

...and haha, I also run my mouth fingers here all the time. This is a great group.
Hey guys, I have a couple Patriots where the open A string makes the truss rod rattle/ring, it just occurred to me, would a string tree help with that by making it a harder angle on the nut?

Thanks!
I tend to wrap an extra wrap (or two/three) on the A (for a 4 string) or E (for a 5 string) to get more downward angle on the nut. Helps a lot.
If a bass has the threaded ferrules, it gets a Fender Stealth String Tree to replace the ferrule washer. Easy, fully reversible and works perfectly, I have them on 5 basses. The catch is they only come in chrome, so black needs a shot of paint, and gold just has to deal, since I don't want to get a can of gold-looking paint for just the one tree...
This is my RicRiot and 83 Elite P. RicRiot has the T20 neck on it right now while the Patriot neck is off getting straightened.

Me too! The Peavey 1.75" nut necks are really killer.
Interestingly, that 83 P Elite neck pictured with the T20 neck have profiles that are darn close to identical. They were also made about a year apart from each other-the T20 serial falls right in the middle of the 1982 range and the Fender is stamped June 3 1983.

Yea, 1st gen Fury basses...im just trying to decide on what strings...seems like a bright sounding bass with rounds...plenty bright...maybe nickels or Pressurewounds?

Pressurewounds are great IMHO. and you don't get a lot of the string noise and clackity clack on the frets. But still sound full frequency and clear. that's my vote.

Everyone just put a new tube in my peavey pro bass 500

JJ Ecc803S
Seems like it’s distorting no matter what I do with the Gain knob
Bad choice in tube? I had a similar thing happen with a mesa l tube

From what I understand, it's design is a little better suited for use outside the preamp, like for a phase inverter. Maybe try a 'regular' ECC83/12AX7/7025?
