I though I saw that picture floating around But there’s Emgs routed perfectly in that one cirrus…. (Spector factory?) lol


On a side note. My super ferites got delivered but I’m at school right now
Can’t Wait to Throw them on!
I have a 500K dual concentric pot so hopefully it’s not to bright but that’s also what I used with the original pickups when I swapped it to the Emg preamp

The Western mind's obsession with categorization baffles me.

Why do we have to have a chart of knob and switch positions that (allegedly) mimics another style of instrument? And how did they come up with the single definitive version of each of those other instruments?

Hang around long enough, and you realize that every Fender Jazz is subtly unique, as is every MusicMan Stingray, and every Rickenbacker 4003, and every Gibson EB3.

So the best you can do is "ballpark", and if that's the best you can do, then why not just chuck it all out the window, and just twist the knobs on your actual bass in your hands at this moment until it makes a tone that sounds good?

Sheesh....

Not to mention how people talk about “more” or “better” tone like it’s a quantity. I like to think all basses sound good in an appropriate context, ya know? Maybe that’s naive, lol

Im with you...all those instruments can create various sounds, and some of them with quite a wide range of sounds.

I generally plug straight in and tend to turn knobs until I get a sound I like...and I bet it's pretty similar no matter the bass.

The EQ section on an amp is there for a reason as well...i actually havent lost my hearing on the top end at 64 but high end distortion is very unpleasant.

Hello, club members! I've done a small search of the site & can't find a non-US Peavey club, so if someone could please indulge me for a moment.

I acquired a 5-string Vietnamese-built Grind after having major seller's remorse for getting rid of a 4-string Grind. I patiently waited for 3 years before the perfect one popped up & I freakin' LOVE it. However...

It has a normal, run-of-the mill bridge instead of the ABM style bridge(s) that facilitate thru-body stringing. I figured someone had simply swapped the bridge, until I turned it over. No ferrule holes...

This particular Grind came this way from the factory. Now I've looked a a TON of Grind's while shopping, & I've never seen one with this bridge setup. Has anyone else?

I'll post pics if I need to, but I'm at work right now, um, working...:smug:

Yeah, this chart is mediocre at best. The T40 is a T40. Pickups and their locations are pretty unique to it, and it only.
The T20 or T45 can do a reasonable P thing, but that’s because they put a series humbucker or an aggressive single right in the P spot.

I like the Peavey basses that don't sound exactly like a Precision, Jazz, StingRay, Ric, Hofner, Thunderbird.
