Hey BXP owners: I have a 2004-ish Grind with the Hipshot-like single-string bridges. But the saddle seems only held in place by friction. If the strings are off, the saddles fall out. Bestbassgear.com sells both Hipshots and a generic no-name single-string bridge. I believe the Hipshots have an extra screw to secure the saddle in place. My question is: are Hipshots drop-in replacements for the single-string bridges on Peavey BXP basses?

Errrrrr.......not really a screaming deal, especially as it has no case. It's not uncommon to see that kind of pricing.

Hot glue or removable weatherstripping caulk - new bridge is not necessary

I have my beloved '88 Peavey Dyna Bass Unity Series that I've owned since '92. It's still my best "Player's Bass" and was my first thru-neck.

I recently been brought it out of retirement and modified in the way I've be wanting to modify it for years.

When I first bought used it oh so many moons ago, it came with a hipshot detuner on it. Being that I was playing metal back in those days, that was quite a handy thing to have!

However when I got back into bass playing about a year and a half ago I bought some new basses and well my old peavey kinda fell behind the times in the tone dept. The old pickups had long passed their prime and were in very rough shape. I also felt the EQ system was dated but being cash strapped and absolutely unwilling to part with it, I retired it.

BUT when I got my bonus this year, I decided it was time to get "Blackie" back in the game .... with a VENGENCE! HAHA!

All the original electronics have been replaced with EMG!

I've installed new a EMG X P/J set of pups with an EMG BQS EQ System. I also added a 9v/18v switch mod where to old active bypass switch use to be. Plus new black steel knobs to boot. So yeah, Blackie is back and mean as hell! The new tone is simply AWESOME!

So can I get a number please? (I would love a number with "63" in it)

BTW - does anyone know what the body wood is on my bass? I know the neck/center strip is maple with an ebony fretboard but unsure about the body wings' wood type. Any help on that?

Would 205063 be good? You may have to wait to jump in and snag it.

There's about 3 or 4 times a year when numbers are considered.

18v is more punchy by quite a noticable degree.
