Completely rewired with a Dimarzio DP122. Feel free to critique my very first soldering job ever:

The joints feel secure and she sounds lovely. I'm not too thrilled with those tele knobs or the chrome screws, but they'll have to do for now.

I'm amazed at how flawless the neck and setup are on this thing. I thought for sure I was going to have a bigger project on my hands for $100. Not the case. The only thing "bad" about that bass are the dings on the edges of the body, which I happen to like.

Picked up two more,the Fury came from GC website and had it delivered to a local store .The guy who pulled the bass and was helping me sees that it's a Peavey and tells me he has a Peavey bass at home he would be interested in selling.I ask of course "What kind of bass would that be?","A G-Bass dude!"and that was it,a mutually agreed upon $340.00 and a couple of days later and,DSCN2021.JPG DSCN2027.JPG DSCN2019.JPG DSCN2040.JPG DSCN2035.JPG DSCN2029.JPG SWEET MOTHER OF GRAPHITE thats a nice neck!!

You're one lucky fella:D I've the exact same G bass, they are sweet alright.

Things haven't went so well my way this week. Guy in Germany was gonna sell me a white Patriot but took a trade deal instead
and 2 sellers on ebay wouldn't do international shipping so there's strike two.There's another Fury for sale in the UK but I'm
afraid the asking price is too high.

Just need to have patience I guess:)

Hey Gfaulk, With the G-basses it appears the graphite construction kept them from being able to inscribe the serial to the back of the headstock so they went with a sticker there. Most end up missing, though I have seen some on both the outside and inside of the control cavity plate. Whether they switched to putting them there or previous owners relocated them I don't know.

OK guys, Here is a qusetion for all of you. The Peavey Foundation and the Peavey Dyna. Almost the same except the Dyna has the option to be played active OR passive, while the Foundation is only passive. Does the preamp make a big difference? Foundations already sound great to my ears. Is it worth my time and money to buy a Dyna since I have two Foundations already? Not that I need another excuse to buy another bass. LOL

" It's just an active Foundation ! " Yeah I thought that till I got one:) Maybe it was the preamp or the 3D bridge ?
Could be I just did a better set up.

I say go and try some. Please don't ask the difference between a Dyna and a Unity.

I'm having sleepless nights over that question:D

I'm visiting the US end of April and fancy going to the Peavey Visitors Centre. Has anybody been and do they recommend it?

Now that things have died down a bit again I'd like to ask a question about the T40 pickups.
Can someone explain the differences between the early and later versions?
I noticed some people calling the earlier ones "toaster" pickups. To me they all seem to be toaster pickups. I had thought "toaster" referred to the shape of the chrome mounting rings but I seem to be wrong. I would really like to get educated on them as I am in the process of searching for a T-40.

And I guess secondly, are there any other differences in the early/later T-40's that are significant when considering purchase of these basses?
