Thanks! It did seem a bit much.

I'll just leave the "off-topic" calling to someone else next time. If someone seriously hijacks a thread I'm sure a moderator will handle things. Otherwise I'm sure just ignoring off topic posts will suffice.

Can someone who has a USA Millennium with the maple board tell me what the finish is like on the board and neck of that bass? Is it like the ultra satin finish on the back of the pau ferro boarded necks, or more like the glossy kinda sticky finish on a maple boarded Foundation?

I don't know about those specific models, but I can tell you for sure that Peavey is inconsistent on which truss rod tool they take. My Palaedium takes the Gibson style tool, but my Axcelerator and Millenium take a stanradr allen wrench (I think). I believe my old Dyna-Bass 5 took a standard Allen.

Speaking of truss wrenches.....I phoned the Peavey parts dept last week to buy one for my old Foundation (5/16").

According to the woman I spoke with, it aint a five buck tool anymore. They wanted $18.95 (plus shipping) for it.


Instead, I ground down the OD of a 5/16" socket. Granted, I have to remove two tuners to make an adjustment, but I can't see paying that much for a little crap tool.

I see that Stewmac has one for $9, not sure if the OD will fit into the Peavey access trough, tho.

Anyone care to give a list of links to these other places to get what I need? All of my basses need resets so badly. They are usually kept in a pretty cool room but I take them outside to jam a fair bit and the hot/cold plays hell on them. I was outside yesterday jamming with a guitarist in my neighborhood and my Fender P was soaked with my sweet before it was done. We were sitting down playing at one point and I ended up having a dishtowel on my leg (I had shorts on) and one under my right arm on the body just so I could hold it, it was that wet/slick with my sweet..sheesh... I wanted to use the T40 but with its weight and the heat I passed LOL (I didn't feel like dealing with it ) My strap was soaked too. Anyone know how to clean up/wipe down a padded leather levys strap that got soaked with sweat (one of the wide black ones with the chrome O rings all over it..major killer strap I stole of the Bay a couple months back for....$15 ... booyah)??

Wipe the strap with a slightly damp cloth, and clean it with saddle soap after it dries.

Got any more sweat stories? !! (Sorry!)
