A pair of Dyna Unity series, and a pair of T-40s. Not bad for a guy who's allergic to four strings.

That's a fine flock of fours you have there. That dark red, almost burgundy is a great color. Glad I'm not the only one with a bad case of GAS.

Dyna Bass Unitys must be in season. Received this 1987 Limited today. It has a Mike Pope four band pre with passive treble control and Victor Wooten EMG pickups. Very pro, neat 18V install with no body mods. Only thing they had "wrong" was the High control closest to the neck, not the Low. Didn't they know that's backwards??? But it was easily corrected. :) Grover branded Titans, too. Played a couple of hours through headphones after stringing it BEAD and a few set up tweaks. I like the sounds available and can easily find mine. Thinking about putting an original pre and PUs in and selling the aftermarket. I'll play it and the koa Dyna Bass Unity this Friday night and see how much practical difference the high buck parts make.

hmmm, after looking at them on the interwebz--it seems like it is basically a small socket wrench? socket wrench set work in a fix if I can get it in there?

Won't fit, too thick, ...and thin wall sockets usually leads to problems.
Order the right tool online and you will have it in three or four days.
You are gonna need one if you buy any more old Peavey basses (and my guess is that you will).
Google: truss rod tool ..and look at the images and you can see many sources for them.

I would guess it won't fit.
Maybe a 1/4" drive socket wrench which has a thinner extension rod, and get a thin wall 5/16" deep socket.
Tried that on mine and it did not fit, then I bought a tool designed for the job.

Probably need to remove the string tree as it'll foul the extension bar. Oh yeah forgot,you'll want an extension bar too :thumbsup:

I removed a few tuners as well....very thin high quality socket in my case with an eye on the surrounding wood around the nut....i've removed a bit of the 'splintered wood' around the nut with a rotabroach cutter (remove the pilot).

MUST be a solid and secure fit with the wrench all the way on and evenly on the nut.
