Hey y’all. My band was on a local Austin tv show this past October and they just recently released some footage from it. The show is low budget, the mix isn’t the best and the playing could have been better. All that said, I thought my TL-Five came out sounding alright for going straight into their system and the EQ left pretty flat all the way around.....other than having a slight low and mid boost at the bass. Here’s a little instrumental we do. Best listened to with headphones on.

Nice....bass sits in the mix really well. Of course the tele gives you the whole bottom end. Great playing also.

I bought a Zodiac DE a while back, but never really liked the tone of the Quarter Pounders in it (they've since gone into another bass, and sound great, strangely enough), so I swapped them for a set of EMG GZR pickups recently. Holy cow! It's a whole new bass. But, then, the skinny J-width neck started bothering me. I've never got along with them, even though my first "real" bass was a MIM Jazz, like 20 years ago. Anyway, I just bought an old loaded T20 neck that should, theoretically, fit (heel width works, scale length and number of frets match). I'm sure it won't be a perfect bolt-up-out-of-the-box situation, but I'm optimistic it'll work, and will make the Zodiac a killer PJ for little coin.

Recieved, and installed the T-20 neck today. Worked like a charm! I'm officially christening it as a 'T-Twentiac'. Serial number says the neck is from 1983! It's been swapped before, as there are extra holes in the heel. They don't affect it, except aesthetically. Neck is nice and straight, and plays beautifully all over. I'm very happy!

Anyone know the deal on the tuners that came on this neck? I remember having a Patriot with them a while back. Still very smooth, and smaller than other clover-leaf tuners of the era. I seem to remember Grover Titans being an option as well. Anyway, these things are great!

I don't know "the deal" but I can confirm my Patriot appears to have the same tuners.

I spotted a natural T-20 in a pawn shop in Tuscaloosa yesterday during a road trip. (edit: EZPAWN on McFarland next to the Popeye's.) It still had the original knobs, but one tuner was replaced with a Fender, the pickup ring was missing (SF pickup held in by toothpicks glued to the pickguard), the bridge had lots of corrosion and there was a socket wedged into the truss rod access hole.

They were asking $170 and wouldn't budge, so too much of a basket case for me at that price. However, anyone in the area might want to keep an eye. The price drops to $136 at the end of April, and again every few months.

No, because with the pau ferro fingerboard I actually don't have to fret about CITES regulations on this one. The location shows as Nova Scotia so I'm thinking that will do...OK, I'll go add it...what's the harm?

Grabbed this very clean Mil 4 about a month ago. Previous owner gutted the stock electronics in favor of EMG pups and an EMG 3-band (with mid-sweep). I've owned an American Mil in the past with stock electronics (also a J/MM config) and strongly prefer the EMG setup (YMMV).: Anyway, here she is...
