U.S. Peavey Club

I visit the GC used site daily. The overall number of basses they have listed seems to change often. It's at around 2200 now, but was closer to 2800-2900 late last year. It sometimes changes throughout the day. I'm beginning to think that their site is having issues, which could explain why some instruments appear and reappear. It's totally a theory, and may not even be a good one, but that might explain the Cirrus.

Those of you who have followed the circus of events following my purchase of the Millennium 5 on Reverb will be pleased to know that the seller's untrue and retaliatory feedback has been removed from my profile.

I truly hope the seller learns his lesson and deals more honestly in the future.

That Millennium was a killer bass that was really beat up by careless use. Too bad. I would have really enjoyed the bass had it been as advertised.

Thanks for all of you that were supportive. You lowered my blood pressure and I appreciate it.

I can now confirm that Peavey did make at least one TL-6 with Koa.

I'll take more pictures for sure. Frets need cleaning something awful..lol

This was a custom order. Serial dates it built in 1992. Extremely well built, especially for the time period. I have this quality of instrument built by several different luthiers. This is an absolutely world class electric bass. No question. And the sound...OMG, the Koa.

More later, I can't put this bass down atm.

I love my Koa basses. Full disclosure: long time Peavey fanboi. My first ever "purchased new" bass was a Dyna Unity Koa, in about '89. I thought at the time that it was my best sounding bass, so of course I sold it..... Once the Peavey collecting started a few years ago, I set out to find another. Currently have two. They both do that thing that my first one did. I have Koajealousy over that TL-Six, even though sixes aren't my bag.

Interesting! I wonder if they stopped taking custom orders for the TL series after 92?

It was never hiding. This bass belonged to the first person who showed me how to play electric bass. Also the first 6 string I had played. I was 17 and had a quick lesson. I couldn't remember anything about the bass and had gotten in contact with my old friend a few years ago. Finally went to his house yesterday and jammed for a couple of hours, he is a guitarist now! I had asked him over a year ago if he was interested selling any of his collection. He had sold off the vintage basses he owned when I was a teenager but told me he still had his peaveys and a few others. Mostly collects guitars now(extremely nice guitars!!!!) Worked out he was willing to let this one go, and we are starting a fusion/instrumental band to boot! He had a bunch of charts that we ran though. Was some good sounding stuff so I think we are going to record them and maybe play a gig or two.

The tuners and knobs are tarnished so much that they are turning silver. So I'm going to replace with some hipshot. Keeping the bridge, I love these old Khalers when they are installed correctly and this one is.

I'm going to have to take some steel wool to the frets. My Gorgomyte cloth was just defeated!
