Neck tilt is fine here for very, very small adjustments. I don't like to have more than about 1/16" of the screw sticking out. Beyond that, I use a shim.
As someone in my revival thread put it, the micro-tilt is like a log splitter for those bilaminate necks that don't have a fretboard cap. I made full-pocket shims for both of my projects to counteract this.

I don't think it's that uncommon for various graphite necks to have a "core" in some places.
Modulus necks are hollow, so the CF layer as also just a skin, but the core is air. I believe Moses necks are solid. I don't want to cut mine in half to find out though

I have an obsession for wood. The musical kind.
In the early 80's Vigier necks were 100% carbon but Patrice later swapped to 10/90 carbon/maple.
Looking for a Peavey B-Ninety neck. Or a G-Bass neck (4-string only). All this talk of necks got me excited.
Just a quick note - I'm scheduled to pick up a beautiful burst Foundation Saturday morning, a later model with the chrome knobs but with SuperFerrites. My wife and I are making an eight hour round trip - on our anniversary no less - to pick this up. Is that a woman or what? Thirty-one years together and she'll spend the day in the car to pick up my bass.

Yep, she's mo' debinitely a keeper. She's also collected darters and sculpins with me in the winter, wading in creeks with ice around the edges and snow on the ground. Greater love hath no woman.
I did just pick up Steve'N'Seagulls tickets, that's her favorite group. Probably stop for a steak or something similar. And we're going to Provino's Italian restaurant Sunday for Father's Day so probably Sunday night I'll be making an emergency shopping trip for new pants.

Thought about trying to find original knobs,for my 1989 Peavey Dyna Bass. Called Peavey,and they said they were no longer availabe,so I found some similar ones. Two larger control knobs are in the mail,but I found these similar ones,for the smaller control knobs that were
on the Dyna Basses. Couple pictures shows the difference all gold knobs,and the ones I put on there now. Opinions welcome.
I like them, but then I'm not a fan of gold hardware on anything except apparently Axcelerators. That's a beautiful bass either way though, really graceful.
I Love the slotted knobs, but hate the gold knobs. Strong word, okay, Dislike the gold knobs. Black slotted on the EQ knobs makes sense, Fosho though.
