U.S. Peavey Club

Folks, any recommendations on strings (type, brand, gauge) for my Peavey Foundation? My other basses are short scale - the MiKro still has the stock D'Addario XL's (0.045 - 0.100) and my Epi Viola bass has LaBella Deep Talkin' Flatwounds. Both feel and sound good, I'm just looking for a good place to start and assuming that the 34" scale Foundation would react best to a different type.

I've got three Foundations, all strung with D'Addario EXL170.

Thanks folks. I actually have a set of Dunlop Stainless Steel Super Brights - someone at Amazon stuck on a Dunlop Reverend Willy Nickel Plated .008 guitar strings and Amazon let me keep them - so I may try them first. I dunno, I'm not that big on top end on bass so I may try the D'Addarios first. Just see how the mood takes me.

Any of you folks running the Balanced Tension version of the D'Addario EXL170?

I have Cobalt flats on mine. That was the goal from the start: a flats equipped J bass. Foundations are much better deals than equivalent J basses!

Well here’s the new cirrus and millenium

I have the new neck for the cirrus waiting to go on

The millenium I just strung it with cobalts! It sound awesome but I found the neck pickup volume to be very quiet

Will have to bring down the bridge pickup
