I went to buy it and it's already SOLD. I had it in my cart and during checkout someone beat me to it. I hate BXP's, but I want to practice owning my first 5'er, so I'm not picky at the moment.
Hope,not boring you all,but here is my Dyna Bass,with the similar original style knobs,the type that was on them. I did manage to find the outer bands,that are on the knobs.
Oh man. Can’t wait for pics. Share a good bottle of your favorite to toast your anniversary (and the new bass)! Congrats on both counts. Our 35th is in a couple of weeks.
Overall it seems pretty good. The strings are a rusty mess, and while it did come with a new set of Ernie Ball Power Slinkies, they are 55's. Don't think I want to go from a MiKro to a Foundation with 55's! There's also a bit of rust in the bridge parts, and some tiny specks of surface rust on the chrome knobs. But overall, I'm pretty happy. It also has the original Super Ferrites - yay! The body has a couple small places which seem to have been touched up; I may get a professional to blend those because otherwise the finish is pretty sweet. There's no Peavey case (sad panda) but it did come with an old Fender gig bag. All in, $175. I also bought an old Crate BX-50 practice amp for $40. Have not yet plugged in anything.

From one Mike to another Mike, I LOVE it !! I always loved the burst Foundations. I REGRET selling my mint condition burst years ago. I love the Super Ferrites. Those basses GROWL ! You stole it for that price, too AND we all hope you and your wife had a fun 16 hour car ride !!!
Thanks! We actually had a really good time. The seller was a super nice guy; not a musician, he bought a house with estate of a man who was a serious collector. He’s slowly cataloging everything, getting an idea of its value, and selling it on Facebook Marketplace among other media. I thought it was a really good price for the bass - there’s some rust, but the body is surprisingly clean for its age. He didn’t do a great deal of research, I suspect, because I had to talk him through finding the model. But this shows the beauty of the free market; buyer and seller were both well satisfied.
I didn’t really want the Crate amp, but for $40 it should be a decent practice amp. I was going to buy a Fender Rumble 25, but the current model even used would cost more. Now I’ve got to dig up my other bass strings - somewhere I have a set that was shipped as a set of Billy Gibbons 7’s if you can believe that, and Amazon sent the correct set and told me to keep the bass strings. They are roundwounds, 45’s IIRC, but I forget the brand. Got to find them and see if I want to install them or buy a new set. Then it’s down to some light rust removal, polishing and set-up. Fingers crossed that the truss rod is good since it’s set up heavy!

Okay, the strings I received by error are Dunlap .045-.125 Stainless Steel SuperBrights; there's actually a five string set so I'd have .045 - .105. I also have a pack of DR Neon -.040/.060/.080/.100 that I think will fit. On my MiKro I'm still using the factory strings and the only other bass strings I've used are Labella Deep Talkin Flatwounds on an Epi Viola Bass (050/.065/.080/.100 but at 30.5" scale) so I'm quite the neophyte here. Any advice is appreciated. For reference, the Ernie Ball Power Slinky set is 055/.075/.090/.110 and I suspect that my old hands and stubby fingers can't handle those.
I was actually negotiating a $300 Natural T-40 with toasters when I found this burst Foundation for $175. They are certainly great basses.
I didn't buy that one - it's still on Facebook Marketplace far as I know. It looked good, but FM only gives you one fairly low-res picture and the listing said it needed "Some work". When I contacted the seller about exactly what work, his response was pretty much "I dunno, just regular work. Nothing major I know of." So maybe it's just nasty and maybe it's got a stripped truss rod, who knows? Let me see if I can find the listing.
Here's the Facebook Marketplace advert for the T-40 if anyone's interested. It's actually $330, which is still a steal if there're no major problems.
It's in Hartwell, GA which I think is around Atlanta, but I could be wrong - Facebook has a very liberal view of what constitutes a 60 mile radius. (I was looking at an old Japanese bass for $80 until I realized that it was in Tacoma Washington - 2,076 miles away - and a Peavey Mystic which is in Spartanberg SC. Not exactly within 60 miles!)
Anyway, the picture looks good, original toaster pickups, all four etched Peavey knobs (which I love), no apparent damage or cosmetic issues. I probably would have driven to check it out for that price, but honestly I'm not a musician and the Foundation suits me better and has a good back story, even though from the above it's pretty apparent how I feel about Peavey's old 'T' series gear. (Not that there aren't plenty of high quality gigs and recording sessions made with Foundation basses too, they just don't have the T-40's following.)

We were back on 'Da Big Daddy G Show' (a local, public access channel show) this past Tuesday night. I have included our full musical performance....about 30 minutes worth. Used the TL and it sounded good. I'm ready for a string change though......I've been putting it off but can't any longer.
