Uber410 and Neox112 stolen

It is indeed noble of G-B to help one of their endorsing artists. FB has been a very vocal proponent of that company's product line.

On a side note, when Hurricane Katrina washed up virtually all my main performing gear, I decided to email the companies to see if there was any help available. Not free stuff, mind you, but any type of help.

I had a six week old SWR Goliath III plus a G-K 800RB I bought in 1988. I had also been reading about Thunderfunk amps on TalkBass, so I emailed him as well. I explained the situation to SWR even informing them that I had been a Fender dealer at one time. Their response was terse, and essentially said, while they were sorry, there was no way they could help. Not even an offer for a discount on a cab or even parts to rebuild mine. G-K said to send them the 800 RB and they would take a look at it.

The one who really stepped up was Dave Funk, who replied to my email before I had finished emailing the others. He offered me a very sweet deal on a TFB 550, and even moved me to the head of the order line. I was extremely impressed.

The thing is, and I hate to speak for Roger and company, but I don't think Dennis being an endorser is what caused this. I really think they would have done this for a non-endorsing player as well. I may be wrong, but my experience with them has been that they treat everyone who owns a single piece of their gear just as well as they treat an endorser. And I've been both.

imho / ime, etc., etc.

Cheers,
Liam

Either way, it's impressed me to the point of astonishment. Didn't think there was that type of support anymore. Proved me wrong, and just a week or so after trading my Ampeg cabs in for a GB Uber. So, I'm very new to GB in general, and then this happens. Makes me appreciate my new cab a whole lot more.

Good business is good business. I always go to the stores where they treat me right, and i'd like to buy gear from the folks who do the same. I think i'll have to check out some GB cabs, i'm in the market....

Thieves suck, this makes me think of how many times i've left stuff in my vehicles. I live in the kind of small town you leave your door unlocked in, but better safe than sorry.

Good luck Fretlessboy!

I am humbled by this whole experience. Roger and Jeff are my hero's. How many other company presidents watch talk bass to give a heads up to Artist relations/product managers? It is great to know that companies (some at least) have integity and do great things above the call of CS. This really does warm my heart. Thank you is simply not strong enough...but you get it.

I haven't seen a bit of evidence to the contrary, either. I also think they did it just because they're nice guys and want to help out a bro. Yeah, maybe a little good PR never hurt anyone, but it's win win for everyone all around.

Simply forward the police report to me and we'll get you squared away.

.....with the G string. For the Picasso, I have something on my fridge that my 6 year old daughter did. It looks very much like a Picasso...or a Jackson Pollock...I can't decide which. Will that do? We're sold out of cabs for the month. :p;)

Thanks, but I already have something that resembles a Jackson Pollock...I call them jockey shorts, you might call them tidy whitey's. My wife is in awe as she fights them into the washing machine.

And Ill forward the police report to you...but all it says is "it gots stoled", is that enough?

I assume that this is a joke. Not slamming you, I personally just don't wish to see others try to take advantage of Genz and lie about getting cabs stolen.

Again, I realize that you are prob just kidding. I hope that nobody takes advantage of Genz's good will.

I appreciate you saying that but, I know he's kidding. To be honest, we've done stuff like this before....artist or not. A person on Harmony Central had his car rear ended, before a big show in Vegas. It totalled his car and his rig. We saw the post and overnighted him a loaner rig.

In all the times we've done stuff like this, we have never been taken advantage of. That speaks VERY highly of the bass fraternity.

One of the reasons I went with Genz Benz is their customer service. After having some bad experiences with Eden it is nice to see a company that still really cares. I was glad when my Local store starting carrying the GB gear. Within 5 minutes of playing a shuttlemax 12.0 and an Uber 212 I was sold.
