Edit (BB): PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BANNED FOR POSTING THIS PICTURE. THERE'S A POST STUCK AT THE TOP OF THE FORUM THAT TALKS ABOUT THAT VERY THING. I SUGGEST YOU READ IT.

Congratulations. You're on the radar.
Oh man, so sorry about that post. Didn't even think of that, I must have a loose wire or something in my head :(
Again, really sorry about it and surely didn't mean to offend anyone.

ha, I don't know what I was thinking when I made my parents buy me my Kramer XL24 back in '81. Even when I added the Kahler in the later 80's it still was quite ugly. Needless to say I still have it...

Dig the whammy bar! I bet that was really useful! I'll have one put on my Rick right away.

For anyone who's interested, Bumblefoot is now the new guitarist in Guns n' Roses. He's still free to do his own band so this is great news for me as well as him. :) I posted a thread about it and got 2 strange responses in a days time so I deleted it. I think people either thought I was kidding, nuts, or I don't know what. Just felt I wanted to let our friends know.

Most dead-ugly customs that you 50 year white guys in hawaiian shirts seem to build. You know, the ones with the spalted maple tops and other absoultely disguisting things.
+1
you do know that spalted means, "sat in water and got interesting mold rings" right?
My nominee for ugliest bass, Fender Precision. I mean look at it as if you had never seen one before. What is up with the pickguard? The Jazz looks cool, but the P is dorky.

1. Old Ovation solid bodies like this one: Link Removed
Hey I resemble that comment! :crying: I have played a Magnum I for about 20 years. Its pretty much my signature axe. The neck is thinner than Lara Flyn Boyle and the pickups are fatter than Rosanne Barr. As far as looks, Mine is just a straight cherry stain over mahogany and looks tight to me. mine is a little beat though. I have been partial to ugly gear for a while. I call it vintage. :spit:
My idea of ugly is all those hippie sandwich basses with the insane laminations and stains. REminds me of a cedar clock from stuckeys

I've seen one of these Ovations years ago in black that was pretty cool looking, IMHO. More so, Jah Wobble plays one; and if its good enough for Jah Wobble, hot damn, its good enough for me!

REALLY???!!!??? This is homemade???? I never would have guessed, what with the nice machined metal used, those elegant position dots and fine body made of "solid wood". And how can they hope to get a bid even close to what this work of art is worth without mentioning that the neck is part fretted and part fretless.

And what's the deal with this:

I think I've heard of the finer luthiers just starting to experiment with "external neck reinforcement bars". Looks like he's got the technique down!!!
