UK newbie just saying hi

Hi folks!

I'm in the Peak District area of the UK and just picking up bass for the very first time. My other half plays guitar and we picked up a bass second hand some time ago. She didn't get round to doing anything with it and it's been gathering dust in a bedroom ever since.

Don't know if I'm having some kind of midlife crisis but I got the urge to give it a go so I dusted it down, fixed the wobbly pots, put on some new strings and started looking for info on teaching myself which brought me here. My main interest at the moment is just teaching myself some basic techniques and just having a bit of fun
