UL310 + UL310 stacked

I finally have pics of my Epifani Ul310 stack! I won't be receiving my Crest CA9 til next week, so the Stewart 2.1 will do the job just fine for this weekend's gigs. The sound is killer! It's very sensitive to EQing..I can dial in almost any tone..from a old school tubey sound, to a very refined, punchy and hi-fi slap tone! This setup will be really useful for my top 40 cover band, which we go from funk, to rock, to motown, country, and back again! I tried three preamps...a SVP-PRO, Yamaha PB-1, and an Alembic F-1x. IMO..The Alembic matches up perfectly!

mother f'er, you guys are pissing my wallet off, cause dom that rig is freakin' fantastic.

really stop it.

Well, I just got in from a gig in MD, about 1 hour 15 minutes away, and I'll tell ya what..those people really know how to party down there! We have a great time everytime we go play down there. But the ride home is rough!

Anyway, I finally got to use my FULL rig down there tonight, I've been waiting to play that particular room because they have really bad acoustics. I used the Aguilar db659/crest ca9 and the 2 Epifani UL310's. I started off the first set using both cabs, but it just didn't sound right, very boomy. I couldn't push the cabs to open them up. So before the second set, I unplugged the top cab and only played thru the bottom cab, and it made a world of difference! Pushing that one cab really opened it up! It no longer sounded boomy, and the cab just SANG! I've never gigged witha UL410, but by the way the Ul310 sounded when pushed, I can see how a UL410 could easily do almost any size gig. I'm still playing with the settings and different varitions with these cabs and pre/power choices. For the most part, these cabs sound great in almost any room, especially the larger ones with no PA support. I think the next step would be to power each cab with one side of my CA9, that way I can control each cab independently, and have ultimate control. ALso, having more power going to each cab would open them up to their full potential. They just sound SOoooo much better when they get to sing!

Holy thread revival!!! lol I can't believe I started this thread 10 years ago!!! I've been through a TON of gear since in the 10+ years of being on TB. The UL310 stack has been long gone, but it is still one of my all time favorite setups! Nowadays, I'd probably only need one for 95% of my gigs. Having that second one at chest level was something though! :-)

It's alive! I've been searching for ul310 posts because I picked up a series 1 ul310 last November. It's in great shape. I played in a loud band in December with no PA support and felt like I wasn't cutting through, so I'm looking for another cabinet to pair with it. But I wasn't in the house to hear the mix so there's no way to tell for sure how loud I was.
