Ultra flat cabs

I think the SVT-210AV and SVT-212AV have got their followings for a reason, no? They sound reasonably close to an SVT-810AV, but are lighter and more portable.

The power and efficiency (weight too) of 2x10 and 2x12 cabs on the market is PRETTY formidable. If its 30lbs + a 30lbs stand, you'll get far better performance with a vert 2x10 or 2x12 at similar weight. I'm all for innovation, but this seems like a two-seater electric car that can only go 20 miles before needing an 8-hour recharge. Making a lot of sacrifices with very little benefits (for bass amplification purposes).
 
Yeah, I understood that. Are there published specs for the bass cab? Is that rig pictured actually a stack of two cabs?
Unknown, seems documentation on this new bass cab is thin, (lol) the site(s) overall are convoluted and could benefit from a decent web designer, and a competent copy writer/ marketer.
 
Dubious for sure. If the drivers are something atypical like planars that people are mentioning here then I have no knowledge to poke at\\with. But my intuition strongly suggests that this is hyperbole if the drivers are 'conventional.' The volume of the enclosure is strongly tied to the performance of the driver. Such a small volume box would make the tradeoff between bass frequencies and max SPL very pronounced. SVT 8x10s aren't the most bassy cabinets but they were very loud.

I have no comment on these, but I remember seeing and hearing high-end Electrostatic speakers in a Hi-Fi shop that my dad's cousin worked in more than 30 years ago. They were really cool to a 14 year old kid, but the cost was more than I could ever imagine spending as a 14 year old kid.

Full of marketing-speak, absolutely zero numbers or specifications.
That's why it's called "brane". Like the string theory, it promises literally everything but cannot prove it. I especially love that they don't even publish an output power!

As for the ET PRO product, maybe I'll someday dip my toe into the Model Twenty Two. Worst case scenario it can become a guitar amp, especially for my girlfriend's acoustic. The bass cab will probably benefit from being made into 2x10 or 1x15 sizes - which will make them truly more portable.

Planar magnetic speakers are a little like electrostatic speakers, except instead of a moving membrane sandwiched between two charged stators that drive it with an audio signal, they have a membrane in a large magnetic field, and the membrane itself driven by current rather than the grids around it being driven by voltage. One advantage over electrostats is that they don't need a step-up transformer and an independent power source providing hundreds or thousands of volts to charge the grids. One disadvantage is the need for a uniform magnetic field over the surfaces of the membrane -- the bigger the speaker, the more magnets you need. And a strong, rigid framework to keep the magnets in place.

Planar magnetic headphones can sound really good -- IMO only 'stats have greater clarity. They can get unwieldy and heavy because of the magnets and frames though. I have less experience with planar magnetic speakers, but Magnepan has been making them for half a century, the technology is pretty well dialed in at this point, advantages and disadvantages pretty thoroughly understood by now.
