I'm confused.

There is a point where of course your amp can be too loud for your cabinet. But I also hear that your amp can be under powering your cabinet. What does that mean? And how will I know what is a suitable cabinet to get for a certain amp?

Should my amp have a bit more power than my cabinet or vise versa?

Search is your friend. Lots of threads about this. They often don't go very well and get closed. Absorb the arguments from both "sides" and make your best choice.
