Sorry, not buying it. I know too many Brits. Now if you had said over a pint (or two or three or...) of Guiness or Stella...We Brits don't do rage quit doncha' know, never been known, we prefer to chat it out.
Preferably over a nice cup of Earl Grey and a scone.
You need to be introduced to Malcolm Tucker. We Brits don't do rage quit doncha' know, never been known, we prefer to chat it out.

He comes from about 10 miles away from me and is about the same age..You need to be introduced to Malcolm Tucker.![]()
Not the Brits I know ... and you're from IRELAND! 5 pints of Guiness and a donnybrook in the back alleyway. All sorted. We Brits don't do rage quit doncha' know, never been known, we prefer to chat it out.

He he, but I'm, Scottish, see, perfect combination for quiet rational discussion...Not the Brits I know ... and you're from IRELAND! 5 pints of Guiness and a donnybrook in the back alleyway. All sorted.
No offense intended. It was all just weird. Like the bass player. If he had no intention of participating, why did he even show up.
There isn't a guy in your band named Jack Nicholson or a big Native American guy that doesn't talk much, is there?
They sandbagged you with a request to provide gear that you don't even have?
I don't like any part of that sentence. Musicians need to have an instrument. It doesn't even need to be a nice one - just SOMETHING.
"Yeah, I'm still the concertmaster of the London Symphony, but they might have this violin to use, so I don't even need to buy one. "

Is your college like the American high school, and then you go on to "uni" afterwards?
The bass player thing is creepy:
I'm honestly picturing the keyboardist as a sociopath that threatened this guy "I'm gonna tell your Puritan parents that you're playing SINFUL MUSIC in a band that glorifies SEX and SATAN if you don't re-join my ... er, OUR ... band!"
Many people in this thread are confused about why this grand reunion in the park went on so long; I'm guessing that this is the famed British manners in action? Because that was a good moment to RAGEQUIT spectacularly to take pressure off the bassist! You can still take this route in the future if need be...I understand that there are teens in the band which is why I understand the drummer wanting to hang with his mates rather than shake the boat, but I've got a motto "stoopid people gotta learn" which means that blowing up every bit of the keybiatch's desires will teach all of them to think twice before stepping on people in the future (or going along with those that do).
Ditch the keyboard player...or glue a gag in her mouth...either way, you'll be better off.![]()
Another vote to leave. I have dealt with situations like that, when I was young (in my 20's). What I didn't realize then was that it would have been fine to not be in that band, and that eventually another opportunity would come around.
On the other hand, I might not have learned so many valuable lessons about what not to do, and how not to be, to be successful in a band if I hadn't swallowed my pride and stuck it out. But you already have other opportunities, don't waste another precious second with that keyboard player.
Erm, it is absolutely not the norm for British people to be scared of dogs.
Other than that, run for the hills. It sounds like the setup for some kind of terrible sitcom.
If it's a requirement that YOU buy the gear...walk away. Never worth it...especially if they have the money but feel too entitled to do it themselves. Not people I'd want to be associated with in any situation.Aha yeah I forgot that it'd be fine not to be there. In fact I'd be much better off. Preserve my sanity and not have to buy them gear.
