Underrated Basses?

Fernandes Gravity basses. I latched onto a winner of a 6-string two years ago, and it has been great. People dismiss it as a Heavy Metal player's bass until they hear it. Then they realize that it's quite versatile, solidly built, with a really good B-string. I use it for Jazz and Fusion, mostly.

Hands down Bob Frenz, Columbus, Ohio. I've owned many and they are all in the quality of any of the more famous builders, I rank his stuff up with CT and Fodera. He mostly does 6 strings.
If you can find one, you can usually get a steal, I think the most I ever paid for one was $1500.
If I wasn't building my own stuff I'd still have the 4 I bought over the years.

Yeah I've played some Schecter guitars over the years but just never paid much attention to the brand.

A week or so ago I checked out a Diamond P-clone that was phenomenal. Really dug it. Played great and got all kinds of sounds out of t.

Another vote for Peavey. My Foundation fretless is simply an amazing bass. I have played many Peavey basses in the past, and was always generally impressed with them(at least the USA axes). Also another shout-out for Cort. I REALLY wish I still had that P/J pickup Steinberger copy they did in the 80's. Actually I had a pair of them, a black and the lesser seen white. Both awesome axes! Particularly, the Cort Curbows are IMO such sweet axes, and I'm still considering getting one of the fretless models.

THIS. I have to say it's the most versatile, easy to play, great sounding bass for under $200. I'm pretty sure most of the pro's playing Fenders, if without endorsements would easily use a GSR200.

+1 on the ATK. I think the ATK gets passed off as an SR substitute when really it's a very good sounding unique bass in it's own right with the most useful versatility for the buck.

+1. These companies IMO suffer from catalog/marketing. For instance, every Yamaha or Peavey I've seen in catalogs or online do not look as good as when I see them in person (not to mention the amazing sound). Also, I think the fact that all three of them do much more than just Bass guitars and regular guitars(Pro Audio, etc.) people tend to think they can't make an outstanding Bass.
