underrated bassists

Derek Forbes of Simple Minds ('78-'85, '87, & '97-'98 & quite possibly once again this year).

If you are not familiar with him have a listen to his early stuff on albums such as 'Empires & Dance', 'Sons & Fascination/Sister Feelings Call' & 'New Gold Dream'.

He also played with 'Propaganda', 'Oblivion Dust' & 'Spear of Destiny' amongst others.

Glad to see someone else mentioning Mick Karn of Japan.

How about Allan Spenner of 'Roxy Music' fame (listen to 'Same Old Scene').

Carl Radle---I was glad to see a thread about him here recently.
Solid, great tione and feel, a truly "classic" type of bassist. When I was a teen, I was a prog-head, but thanks to my older brother, I'd go see Clapton, etc. and Radle was one of tbhose guys that struck me with his elegant simplicity----I was like, "wow, this guy is playing BASS!"

Another that deserves mention is Conrad Lozano from Los Lobos.
