Univox Professional Jazz Bass?!?

Hi all!

I'm new here, well new to posting. I've been using this site for information and fact finding and would need your help with a very unusual bass. I have found a Univox Professional Bass from the early 70's but this one seems somewhat different since it' a Jazz bass... All my research indicate that the "Professional" model was a P-bass... Actually, nothing indicates Univox ever made a Jazz Bass...

The bass has a maple neck with maple fingerboard. Pearl block inlays and white biding.Univox stamped vintage tuners. The body seems to be Ash?, 3 pieces sandwich ontop of 3 pieces. White pickguard and usual jazz control plate and bridge.Univox stamped neckplate...

Any one seen one of these or has info regarding this instrument? Looking at buying it...

I own the bass as well...plays great. How do I find the year it was made?

If you look at univox.org which seems to be the best place for information on univox guitars, there is a section for unknown univoxes. It appears that there are quite a few rare models that little is known about.

Hi. I actually have one of these basses you're talking about. I was amazed that "UNIVOX" made this type bass too. Maple neck, white block inlays etc. Univox neck plate etc. I never seen one until a very good friend of mine said; he has two univox basses for sale. A jazz and a P bass. When I saw them, I had to have them. Dig this. In mint condition. Oh they look so delicious. When I gigged with the jazz, everyone wants to buy it. I can't let it go due to,...it's sooo "RARE". JAPANESE jazz bass. Very hard to find one of these "UNIVOX" jazz basses. I must say this. If I were to sell,...they would have to go together, not separate. That's the deal. (Smiles).
