I got this bass neck below from a friend a while back. All he knew is that it came from old ex-yugoslavian bass guitar from 60's or 70's that was shaped slightly like "a beatle bass", as he put it (so violin shaped, I guess). The thing is I'm very familiar with that era & location instruments, and I've never saw such headstock or neck...
It was very sloppily repainted in black, so I paint-stripped/sanded it down to bare wood. There were no markings anywhere, the tuners were Schaller bass tuners with smaller pegs, which corresponds with 70's and 80's ex-yugoslavian period. Wood seems to be common beech (it was often used here).
And the scale is 67cm, so 26.378inch (I've measured from zero fret to 12fret and doubled it), which makes it kinda tenor scale?
Also, there is a hole on left-side of headstock?
And the heel has weird hole where the truss-rod ends (I can see washer in there).
And help or ideas appreciated, thanks!
