I have never had any humming issues on mine. I did just have to have the pickup selector switch replaced as it startled crackling and then crapped out. Also the dark lacquer or whatever on the fingerboard is wearing off, causing it to look splotchy.

No excess noise issues with mine and so far the neck's keeping it's looks.I did put in a Tone Styler type 6 position knob that's pretty cool.

Yes, and the Gretsch web site has said “singlecoil” for at least six months, (April ‘22) but the Elderly Music ad and web site still says “Humbucking” as of 10/18/22. Seems they don’t update things frequently, and apparently didn’t get a notice from Gretsch on the description change, or ignored it if they did….

No, don't do that! If you buy from Elderly, and then complain to Fender about deceptive advertising, you can score the $100 of merch!

Small companies seldom have the resources to update websites frequently. I'm not surprised there are people out there who haven't gotten this memo yet. In fact, I'd be surprised if Elderly ever even sold one of these considering electric basses aren't exactly what they're known for. It's probably sort of a non-issue for them.

Elderly has been in business since 1972 & has been shipping internationally since ‘75. Their very oddly updated Wikipedia page says they sold 16,000 instruments and grossed $17 million in 2007. They have a few resources…

The said they would make the correction in the “more details” section of the G2220 listing, having already made the correction on the main page of the listing.

They said they had sold “many” of the G2220 basses in the years the model has been available with only one return on record.

I'm a little surprised, they are very well known and have been for decades for their expertise with acoustic instruments. Not so much for anything else, but my last real dealing with them as a retailer were in the 90's and I'm sure things change!

Weirdest thing happened. 12 minutes after posting this, I got a response from a Fender customer support manager. I told him what a monumental task this project must be. He responded, "Monumental is an understatement!".
