I have the SVT3PRO Head and a SVT 4x10 HLF Cab that as I had said before sounds amasing but could use just a smidge more output power.

So here is where I ended up.

SVT3PRO into SVT 4x10 HLF Cab.

Plus

Preamp Out to QSC RMX 850 into Mesa Booge 4x10 Powerhouse Cab.

In a nut shell this equals Mega More.

At first I had tried running the QSC into some PA Cabs with dismal results (just to see what more amp/cab would do).

So I picked up the Boogie Cab and after hooking it up I was at first not satisfied untill I figured out the QSC/ Mesa section was out of phse with the Ampeg section. I guess that was what was going on the first time I tried it.

Anyway after I reversed the Phase on the QSC Speaker Output, all of a sudden it was Whaaaaammppp!!!!!!!

Goes to show how important Phase Alignement is in multi equiped rigs.

I certainly at some point would like something like an SWR SM1500 AND A 4X12 Schroeder Cab but I do think this will get me by for as long as need be. :bassist::bassist::bassist:

I had a suspicion that it was a phase thing. Glad you got it settled!

Tell me (us) again what you're using to split your signal. I run amps in quasi-series (my SB-12 has two inputs which are also really outputs, and I daisy chain that to a Briefcase), but I'm not sure I like the results so much...

Good for you! I bet I can hear you from here... :D

On my SVT3PRO I got to looking at the Block Diagram and it looked to me like the Signal isnt interupted by only plugin into the Preamp out jack. Evidently the Signal going to the Power Amp isnt interupted (from the Preamp) untill you plug into the Power Amp in jack.

So to answer your question in a shorter simple way. I am running a cable from the Preamp out jack to the QSC which dosnt make the Signal stop coming from the Preamp of the Ampeg to the Power Amp of the Ampeg.

Alos I think I said earlier the output from the DI dont work worth a flip into a Power Amp it is too weak even dimed.

Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to hook up my FX and GEQ. Wish there was some way to run one side of my DBX GEQ only into the Power Amp of the Ampeg. So I have total indapendent control over GEQ of each amp.

The SVT 4x10 HLF Cab is a 4 ohm Cab. So I am running the SVT3PRO at a 4 ohm Load.

The Mesa Boogie Cab is 8 ohms which is correct for the QSC, running Bridged Mono at 600 watts Output.


Oddly enough though the Ampeg SVT3PRO rated at 450 watts can be dimed without hurting the 500 watt rated Ampeg HLF Cab.

The QSC runing the Mesa Boogie Cab (which both are 600 watts) can not be turned up above half way or the Cab wants to go into orbit (Speakers start flapping).
