uploading bass photos

Hello,
There are two ways to post pictures:
1) While replying to any post, scroll down beneath the text box and click on "Manage Attachments". A popup window will appear to help you upload pictures from there. Be aware of the size limits on these attachments - if they're too big, you may need to resize them to get them to upload.
2) You can link to pictures hosted on other sites (i.e. - your own personal site, photobucket, etc.) by copying the image address and then pasting it into the text of your reply between the image codes

I'm having no luck with option 2 there. I've tried Twitpic (because I already had an account), didn't work. So then I tried ImageShack with no luck either. Just shows up as boxes with red exes in them. I read somewhere where the URL has to end with .png, .jpg, etc. Mine end in jpg. I've followed all instructions on here to a tee, and it just doesn't work! Can you please help? I'm dying to show off my 'baby'!

looking at your raw post, the links you posted do not end with .jpg, and do not work when posted into browser on it's own. the link between
must work on it's own when pasted into browser

Thanks for the reply. However, I have to insist that my links do end in .jpg. Below is one of the links that I copied and pasted from what was in the img brackets in my post above.

The link alone works, but when I put it in the img brackets, it suddenly doesn't work.
I guess I can just post the links to the pics, but that's kinda disappointing. :-(

the first links you posted were from twitpic and did NOT end in .jpg
Whether the link works within IMG is entirely a function of the provider, in this case it appears imageshack don't allow embedding. Maybe there's a setting there in your account there for enabling it? Or use photobucket, which does allow embedding. Either way, it's a function/problem of the provider and not talkbass

Works for me. 
Here's what the text looks like in my post (substitute the '{' for '[' to get the correct syntax):
{IMG}http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/9615/bassandamp.jpg{/IMG}
In Advanced mode (or by clicking the "Post Reply" button), there is a Insert Image icon that look like mountains. Click on that, paste the URL for the image into that pop-up box, then click OK.
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Hi Guys! I was finally able to post them. Only, none of the suggestions worked, unfortunately. I finally just copied/pasted the codes provided on imageshack, and they worked! Oddly, they looked almost exactly the same as the ones on this forum that just would not work for me. Anyway, David and MonetBass, thanks for your help!
