I dunno about that...without those britches, that vest would look silly.
I don't think that's a vest... the words "one-piece ensemble" come to mind. *shudder*

Well... I bought a left-handed bass, popped the neck off, and put it on a right-handed body because I wanted a reverse headstock.

I hope that makes me totally uncool.
Hey WEbtroll, the Ric is not a flipper as the knobs get in the way, I have tried...lololol
Yep, can't be done.

don't forget about Jim Haslip.I've posted this a gazillion times, but here goes.
YouTube - ‪Jeff Schmidt -SOLO BASS (fretless) Until You Don't‬‏
Jeff Schmidt...he learned to play on an upside down righty, and now "inverts" the strings on his lefty basses. So the tuning is "upside down", if you see what I mean
the pic with the red one is a kramer, the lefty guitarists is a charvelAwesome pics man! Sweet Jacksons![]()
He obviously never played above the 12th fret. He has his strap still attached to the upper (now lower) bout and running right across the back of the neck..
And those are the worst pants in the history of pants.
Totally cool. Fail!![]()
^^^^^^^ I like that!
William ( OP ) -- I believe you are just too young to appreciate the fact that you are still in the age group that must impress your friends FIRST with something normal or they are gonna call you names which TB will not let me post.
Sure there are difficulties in flipping basses, but for those who have done it successfully and the 3 no-nos don't happen ( not worrying about fret 12 thru 20x, Knobs not getting in the way, and looking kinda silly ), I actually believe if people want to say "hey look at that f****t, what's up with that can't he afford a lefty/righty bass he has to resort to flipping" and it bothers you...oh well too bad huh?
Same as a stage show. you think after all the success Tbird1958 has had wearing a skirt and makeup in his band "the Nasty Habits" let it bother him or his bandmates?...naw, not when the checks are rolling in

It actually helped my career out of people remembering me for one more reason BEYOND my playing as "the guy who plays flipped basses". and even many years later people up here may not remember my name, but they sure remember my style....
"weren't you the guy who use to play a flipped Tbird" -- ( I still hear that 15 years later )
I have plenty of leftys now thanks to the internet and never need to play my righty basses on stage anymore.
but as far as any "cool factor"? ----naw.
