Upside down basses.

No its not cool. Its stupid. Leftys have played righty cause they have no choice in most cases. Very very few mfg make any lefty handed basses or guitars. And when they do its often only one model that you never see in any walk in store. Finding lefties before the internet stores came along was even harder.

I think leftys look stupid no matter what they use.....

I'm a lefty that also will play a flipped guitar or bass in an instant and have on more occasions than I could possibly remember because I'm also a stupid lefty that plays inverted strings so all I had to do was plug it in and jam.

Hey WEbtroll, the Ric is not a flipper as the knobs get in the way, I have tried...lololol

It actually helped my carrear out of people remembering me for one more reason BEYOND my playing as "the guy who plays flipped basses". and even many years later people up here may not remember my name, but they sure remember my style....
"weren't you the guy who use to play a flipped Tbird" -- ( I still hear that 15 years later )

I have plenty of leftys now thanks to the internet and never need to play my righty basses on stage anymore.

but as far as any "cool factor"? ----naw.

The "bassist" in the horrific band The Bay City Rollers used a righty bass turned lefty.

Just say no, kids.

Do you think right handed people who play an upside down left handed bass/guitar are less "cool" than people like Jimi Hendrix who played an upside down right handed bass/guitar (guitar in his case)?

I just think that's a little weird.

Naw.....I enjoy my "weirdness" and don't care what anybody else thinks about my basses. :smug:
